<ADV> Art of Tango Workshops: reminder of Early Bird Special
Date:
November 6th 2009
Dear friends,
From 26 November to 8 December, we are very glad to be hosting Hsueh-tze Lee for the fourth time in Singapore. She is a Tango teacher who is well known for her musicality and innovative approach. During the workshops, she will teach you not only the steps, but most importantly, how to step, and dancing appropriately to the music. Come and experience Tango as it is danced in the milongas of Buenos Aires!
The cut-off date (15 November) for Early Bird Specials is fast approaching, so hurry and register online: http://workshops.ixidanza.com/art-of-tango-4/registration-nov09/ to reserve your spot!
As in past years, this series of workshops are divided into various themes. However, we do stress as the topics are progressive in difficulty, it is strongly advised to start with the first class for each topic.
Summary of program: http://workshops.ixidanza.com/art-of-tango-4/program-nov09/
(CE) Close embrace: Dancing in a close embrace is the most popular social form of tango in Buenos Aires, international festivals and experienced communities. CE1-3 covers invaluable techniques for the special connection, subtlety and dynamics for dancing close. This series is an essential background for all the other workshops, and it is highly recommended as well for experienced close embrace dancers to reinforce fundamentals. More challenging topics are tackled in CE4-6.
(Mu) Musicality: Bringing her musicality to the forefront, this series explores 4 of the 'Big 8' orchestras during the Golden Age of tango.
Milonga and Vals: We'll explore characteristic rhythms and dynamics that will add relish and zest to your milonga and vals. Dance with, as Hsueh-tze has said in the past, "no sweat fancy feet".
Welcome Milonga: Saturday 28 November, 8.30pm - 1am. Theme: "Black or white". Come and show your Singaporean hospitality to a teacher who has helped to transform the local tango scene!
Finally, a quick note to say that I will be going over some of the concepts taught in the previous Art of Tango series during the Friday practicas in the next few weeks.
Hope to see you all!
