We are very glad to announce the Art of Tango series of workshops with Hsueh-tze Lee which will take place at the end of November. Freshly back from her 10th trip to Buenos Aires, Hsueh-tze will be teaching a new vocabulary, as well as further insights into how to dance musically and actively - from leader and follower's perspective.

In brief, a total of 11 workshops will be held between 26 November and 8 December: 5 classes over the Hari Raya weekend (28-29 November) and 5 classes the next weekend (5-6 December). There is also 1 class on "Intimate sacadas" which takes place prior to the regular milonga at Xen Bar (Tuesday 1 December). A Welcome Milonga will be held on Saturday 28 November at Xen Bar. Hsueh-tze dances and teaches “Tango milonguero” - the way Tango is danced in the milongas of Buenos Aires. With many years of dancing and learning from the milongueros in Buenos Aires and her deep understanding of Tango music, Hsueh-tze brings an innovative approach to her workshops and all her classes are fun and creative. In fact, she is largely responsible for introducing milonguero close embrace to Singapore. The transformation and improvement in the level of dancing - also known as the "Hsueh-tze effect" - in the local Tango scene was quite rapid and apparent after her first visit a little over two years ago.

For those who have yet to experience the "Hsueh-tze effect", we recommend that you go through the testimonials on the workshop website from students of previous workshops. We have also included a brief TV interview with Hsueh-tze where she shared some thoughts on Tango in general.

Finally a reminder that a on-going practica is held at Xen Bar every Friday, 9.30pm-12am. Currently we are going through some exercises taught by Hsueh-tze which will provide a taste (and a chance to revise) of the "secrets" in milonguero cloase embrace dancing.
